Cookies and browser storage
Most reading needs no cookie.
Essential administration
An administrator who signs in receives an HTTP-only session cookie used to verify access. It expires after twenty-four hours. Ordinary readers do not need an account. Browser storage used by security services can help verify a form submission.
Referral cookies
A marked shopping link can take you to a merchant or affiliate network that uses referral cookies to attribute a qualifying order. Those cookies are governed by that service. We do not load advertising pixels simply because you read a note. Our own click counter stores daily totals rather than a browser identifier.
Browser controls
You can remove stored cookies and change permission settings in your browser. Blocking all cookies can prevent administrative sign-in or interfere with a security challenge. The timber quantity calculators do not need cookies and keep their values in the current page only. See privacy for messages and security records.
