What reaches the site, what stays in your browser and what a shopping link can change.
Reading and calculations
The site serves pages without a visitor account. Server logs can contain the requested URL, time, IP address and browser information for operating the site and investigating abuse. We do not sell a reader profile. The timber calculators run in your browser and do not send the dimensions you enter to us.
Messages
When available, the contact form asks for your name, reply email and message. Do not send passwords, payment details or private documents. Messages are stored for editorial follow-up and forwarded through a mail relay. Contact information is used to reply to that inquiry, not to enroll you in a mailing list. You may request removal through the contact page. We aim to remove resolved inquiries within twelve months unless an unresolved issue requires the record; this is a retention policy, not a guarantee that every backup is instantly erased.
Security services
Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish abuse from ordinary submissions. Cloudflare can process browser and network information under its own privacy terms. Administrative login uses an essential session cookie and persistent failed-login records. Security records are separate from affiliate click totals.
Shopping links
Some clearly marked links may pay a commission. A merchant or affiliate network, including Amazon, CJ, eBay or MaxBounty where used, may receive referral information and set cookies after you follow a link. Their privacy and cookie policies apply on their websites. We count first-party link taps by day, placement, network and item, without storing an IP address in that click table. Counts are not proof of a unique person or a purchase.
Your choices
You can read without following shopping links, block cookies in your browser and avoid submitting personal information. Browser controls may affect third-party forms. Contact the desk about access, correction or removal of information you sent. This policy was written on 23 October 2026 and will be updated when site practices change.
